Would you like to rent a motorcycle but have no gear of your own with you? Or do you need suitable protective clothing for just a few days – for a course, your riding test or visitors from abroad? At Honda Motorrad Zürich you can rent motorcycle clothing – as a complete set with jacket, trousers, gloves and helmet, or individually.

The jacket, trousers and gloves in our rental range are made by Alpinestars. The motorbike clothing is available in sizes XS to 3XL, women’s sizes on request. You can also hire the motorcycle gear without a rental motorcycle – for example for your own motorcycle.

Good to know: When you buy a motorbike, your motorcycle clothing can be included in the motorcycle leasing.

Test ride or rental: For a test ride (15–25 minutes) the helmet costs only CHF 10.–. The prices above apply to rentals of one day or more.

From the second rental day, the daily price drops by 25 per cent. With every helmet rental – including for the test ride – you buy a balaclava for CHF 25.– for hygiene reasons; it is then yours to keep. A deposit of CHF 300.– applies to the gear. All prices are non-binding and subject to change.

How to measure correctly

Chest circumference: at the widest point under the arms, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist circumference: around the natural waist at navel height.
Hand circumference: around the palm without the thumb, at knuckle height.
Head circumference: around the head, about 1 cm above the eyebrows.

Women’s sizes are available on request. The measurements are manufacturers’ guide values and do not guarantee the fit – if in doubt, try on the rental gear at our shop in Volketswil.

Rental terms for the motorcycle gear

Complete set from 4 days: weekly flat rate of CHF 350.– instead of the daily rate

The rental gear goes with every rental motorcycle – request both using the same form: motorcycle rental in Zurich. For your basic riding course, your riding test or a ride on your own motorbike, you can also hire the motorcycle clothing without a motorcycle. For a test ride (15–25 minutes) the helmet costs only CHF 10.– instead of the daily rate. With every helmet rental – including for the test ride – you buy a balaclava for CHF 25.– for hygiene reasons.

Why do I have to buy a balaclava when renting a helmet?

For hygiene reasons you wear your own balaclava under every rental helmet. It costs CHF 25.– and is then yours to keep. This also applies to the helmet for the test ride.

What sizes are available for the rental gear?

Jackets and trousers are available in sizes XS to 3XL, gloves from S to 3XL and helmets from XS to XXL (53 to 64 cm head circumference). Women’s sizes are available on request. The exact measurements are in the size chart.

Can I rent motorcycle clothing without a rental motorcycle?

Yes. You can also hire the motorbike clothing without a rental motorcycle – for example for your own motorcycle, a course or your riding test. The deposit of CHF 300.– for the gear applies.

How much is the deposit for the rental gear?

When is the weekly flat rate worthwhile?

For the complete set, from four days: 1 day costs CHF 120.–, 2 days CHF 210.–, 3 days CHF 300.– and from 4 days the weekly flat rate of CHF 350.– applies (up to 7 days).

How do I reserve motorcycle clothing for rental?

Can I rent a motorcycle and motorcycle clothing together?

Yes. You request the rental motorcycle and the rental gear together in the same form. You can see which models are available under motorcycle hire in Zurich.

When can I collect and return the rental gear?

Collection and return are possible during the opening hours of Honda Motorrad Zürich AG in Volketswil: Mon 13:30–18:30, Tue–Fri 08:30–12:00 / 13:30–18:30, Sat 09:00–16:00. Please return the gear clean and complete.

What happens if the rental gear is damaged or lost?

In the event of damage or loss, the replacement value will be charged. The deposit of CHF 300.– serves as security.
