The Honda Rebel comes in two sizes: the Rebel 500 with 471 cc and 34 kW, which you may ride on category A restricted (known as A2 in the EU), and the Rebel 1100 with 1,084 cc and 65 kW for category A. On top of that come the versions with dual clutch transmission, the Touring variant and the Special Edition. We keep them here in Volketswil ZH, new and second hand, together with genuine accessories, custom work and servicing.
The Rebel is Honda’s cruiser range: low seat, wide handlebar, bobber lines. It comes in two sizes – the Rebel 500 as the CMX500 and the Rebel 1100 as the CMX1100.
The difference is more than engine size: with 34 kW the Rebel 500 is approved for category A restricted straight from the factory, which makes it one of the few starter bikes that does not look like a compromise. The Rebel 1100 plays in another league – 1,084 cc, 65 kW, and a dual clutch transmission if you want one.
We stock the 2025 and 2026 model years. Which version is available right now – with colour, mileage and price – is shown in the bike list further down this page.

| Version | Displacement | Power | Transmission | Licence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CMX500 Rebel | 471 cc | 34 kW | Manual | A restricted |

Current prices are shown with every machine in the list on this page – they come straight from our own stock.
The Rebel 500 (CMX500) with 471 cc and the Rebel 1100 (CMX1100) with 1,084 cc. On top of those come the DCT, Touring and Special Edition versions.
The Rebel 500 produces 34 kW, the Rebel 1100 produces 65 kW.
The Rebel 500 may be ridden on category A restricted – it is approved for it from the factory. The Rebel 1100 needs category A. We describe the route to the licence on our motorcycle licence page.
CMX is Honda’s internal designation for the Rebel range: CMX500 for the 500, CMX1100 for the 1100. This is the name that appears in the vehicle documents.
Most recently we had the 2025 and 2026 model years here. What is available at the moment is shown in the bike list on this page.
The Rebel 500 is the most sought-after machine in the range – for good reason. It looks like a proper bobber, yet with 34 kW it is approved for category A restricted straight from the factory. Not a big bike held back by a restrictor, but a motorbike built for this category.
The low seat makes it accessible for shorter riders too – both feet on the ground is worth more on a first bike than most spec sheets suggest. The 471 cc twin pulls cleanly from low revs and does not need to be wrung out.
The Special Edition differs in colour scheme and equipment details; technically it is identical. Both versions are here with us in Volketswil ZH.

Yes, straight from the factory. At 34 kW it sits below the 35 kW limit and needs no restrictor.
The Rebel sits deliberately low – that is part of the bobber concept. How it feels for you is best judged sitting on one here at our premises.
The model price starts at around CHF 6,990. The valid price for each machine is shown in the list on this page. Prices non-binding, subject to change at any time.
Very much so. Low centre of gravity, an even-tempered engine, approved for A restricted – and no visual compromise. More on our page for beginners.
A version with its own colour scheme and equipment details. Engine and chassis are identical to the standard model.
The Rebel 1100 takes the lines of its smaller sister and puts a far bigger engine underneath: 1,084 cc and 65 kW. The twin comes from the Africa Twin – plenty of torque low down, no obsession with revs.
Despite the power it remains a CMX1100: low seat, relaxed posture, cruiser character. You ride it on category A.
It is available with a manual gearbox, with a dual clutch transmission, as a Touring version and as a Special Edition – the differences are described in the next section.

1,084 cc producing 65 kW. The twin is related to the one in the Africa Twin.
The model price starts at around CHF 11,690, the Touring version at around CHF 13,050. The valid prices are shown in the bike list. Prices non-binding, subject to change at any time.
No, that needs category A. Anyone holding A restricted takes the Rebel 500.
The 500 for beginners and everyone on A restricted, the 1100 for riders with category A who want more torque and touring ability. Both are here for a test ride.
With the Touring version, yes – it brings more wind protection and luggage capacity as standard.
The Rebel 1100 DCT has a dual clutch transmission: no clutch lever, no gear pedal. That suits a cruiser particularly well – rolling along without constantly shifting is exactly what this design was made for.
The Touring version brings more wind protection and luggage capacity as standard – it is aimed at anyone covering longer distances. It is also available with the dual clutch as the Rebel 1100 Touring DCT.
The Special Edition relies on its own colour scheme and equipment details; engine and chassis stay the same. Further models with automatic transmission are listed on our page for automatic motorbikes.

A dual clutch transmission. The Rebel 1100 DCT has neither a clutch lever nor a gear pedal and shifts by itself, or by button if you prefer.
No. The dual clutch transmission is offered on the Rebel 1100. The Rebel 500 has a manual gearbox.
It brings more wind protection and luggage capacity as standard – intended for longer distances. Available with a manual gearbox and as the Touring DCT.
Anyone riding a lot in town or in slow traffic notices it immediately. The best answer is to ride both versions back to back – we will get them ready for you.
The dual clutch transmission is the same on both, as are the engine, chassis and power output. The Special Edition differs through its own colour scheme and additional equipment details.
What you see in the list here are our second hand machines, demonstrators and demo bikes. If nothing appears in it, we currently have none in stock for direct sale. But as soon as the demo period is over, nearly new motorbikes go on sale on a rolling basis.
Please do ask. Nearly new demonstrator, demo and good second hand machines come in continuously – often as trade-ins, before they are advertised, or once the demo period has ended. Tell us what you are looking for: we will get in touch as soon as something suitable arrives, and we are happy to reserve it for you.
We take your current bike in part exchange. Bring it round or send us photos and details – we will make you an offer and set it against the purchase price.

Yes, gladly. Tell us which version you are after – we will reserve the right machine for you as soon as it arrives.
Yes, a test ride is possible. We charge a contribution towards costs for it, which we credit against the purchase.

Honda offers both assembled accessory packs and individual parts for the Rebel. We fit everything here in Volketswil ZH, set it up and check the approval where one is required.
The Rebel is a machine many people customise – that is part of the bobber idea. Tell us how you want to ride it; the recommendation follows from that.

The style pack changes the look in the places that catch the eye: machined aluminium bar-end mirrors, radiator covers, a headlight cowl, fork gaiters, a short front mudguard, tank protection pads on the top and sides, and wheel rim stripes. Together they produce the bobber look many riders are after – from the factory and road legal.

On a bobber the seat decides a great deal – it sets the seat height, the posture and how far you can ride in one go. A comfort seat with different foam makes longer stages bearable; a flatter version gets shorter riders more securely to the ground. Sitting on one says more here than any description.

A different handlebar changes the riding position noticeably: higher and pulled back makes the posture more upright and relaxed, flatter makes it sportier. We fit and align it – including a check of the cable and hose lengths.

On a cruiser the sound is part of the machine. A different end silencer changes tone and weight – we only fit systems with valid Swiss approval. Anything else lands you in trouble at the next inspection. What is registered for your machine we clarify before ordering.
Honda does not list an end silencer for the Rebel 500 or the Rebel 1100 in its genuine accessory range. If you want a different system, we clarify what is homologated in Switzerland before ordering and register the conversion.
Crash bars protect the engine and bodywork if the bike tips over at a standstill – which happens more often in a car park than on the road. We fit them to the original mounting points, with no drilling of the frame.

Quite a lot can be done through the seat. Come by and try the options – that tells you more than figures.
Yes, everything is fitted and set up here in Volketswil ZH. If you buy a machine from us, we fit it before handover.
In many cases yes. Give us the model, year and frame number and we will check the fit.
We service the Rebel in our own workshop: servicing to the manufacturer’s schedule, oil changes, brakes, tyres, chain and sprocket sets, and preparation for the roadworthiness test. We keep the service book up to date – that protects the value when you later sell the machine.
Maintenance also covers what crops up between appointments: a tyre before a tour, a battery after the winter, a brake pad. Give us a call – we usually find a slot at short notice.
The dual clutch transmission of the Rebel 1100 DCT needs no special treatment, but it does need clean work to the schedule. We are set up for that. We also source spare parts for older model years.
Everything about servicing, repairs and running costs is on our page for motorcycle service and workshop.

That depends on the scope – minor service, major service or additional work. We quote the price beforehand; details on our workshop and servicing page.
Yes. We check the machine through in advance and put right anything that would be flagged.
Yes, regardless of where you bought your Rebel.
As a rule yes. Give us the year and frame number and we will check availability.
It needs no special treatment, but it does need clean work to the schedule. We are set up for that.
Rebel 500 against Rebel 1100: the 500 for everyone on A restricted and for beginners, the 1100 for riders with category A who want torque and touring ability. Visually both stay unmistakably Rebel.
Against a naked bike: a CB 650 R is sportier and more upright. If you want the low seat, the stretched-out position and the bobber line, you stay with the Rebel.
Against other custom bikes: with the CL500 and the GB350 Honda builds further machines in this direction – scrambler and retro rather than bobber. You will find the overview on our page for cafe racers and custom bikes.
As a first motorbike: the Rebel 500 sits near the top of our list for beginners – low centre of gravity, an even-tempered engine, and no compromise in how it looks.

All three are custom bikes from Honda, but each has its own character: the Rebel is a bobber with a low seat, the CL500 a scrambler, the GB350 a retro model. CL500 and GB350 are covered on our page for cafe racers and custom bikes.
The Rebel is a bobber, or cruiser – low, stretched out, relaxed. A cafe racer puts you in a sportier position with more weight over the front wheel.
Yes. Compact dimensions, a low centre of gravity and an engine that pulls from low down – all an advantage in town traffic. For long distances the Rebel 1100 is the more relaxed choice.
Yes. Make an appointment and we will have the machines ready. For test rides we charge a contribution towards costs, which is credited against the purchase.
The Rebel 500 and every model available in a 35 kW version. The overview is on our page for 35 kW motorbikes.
What decides a tight situation is rarely the engine: braking on a wet surface, swerving, where you look. More speed and more lean angle never come from courage or risk, but from coordination and timing – ride faster than your technique allows and sooner or later you go down.
Anyone starting out on the Rebel 500 gains the most here: the machine forgives a lot, but it is no substitute for riding technique.
Training happens away from the road. Off-road the surface is uneven, speeds are lower and the time window is wider – a light bike forgives more. Afterwards you transfer the technique to your own machine.
Courses and dates at the MX-Academy: small groups with individual analysis, led by Chris Möckli, twice European champion, supported by Honda Switzerland. If you still need the licence, the process is described on our motorcycle licence page.

At the MX-Academy. All courses and current dates are listed there.
No. Training takes place off-road on machines that are provided – you then transfer the technique to your Rebel.
Especially then. The Rebel 500 forgives a lot, but braking and swerving have to be practised before you need them.
We describe the process from learner permit to test on our motorcycle licence page.
Yes. If you have not ridden for a while, the MX-Academy rebuilds braking, cornering technique and where you look before you go back on the road.
We are a Honda Dream Dealer in Volketswil ZH, a few minutes from Zurich. The available Rebel machines are shown in the list on this page – with colour, mileage, equipment and price, straight from our own stock.
Test ride. On a bobber the seating position decides everything – you cannot read that, you have to ride it. We will get the version you want ready, and if you like, the Rebel 500 and the Rebel 1100 one after the other. We charge a contribution towards costs for this, which we credit against the purchase.
Part exchange. We take your current motorbike in part exchange – another make as well.
Handover. We fit accessories before handover; the machine is checked and set up by our workshop. After that we remain your point of contact for servicing and maintenance.
