In a motorcycle taster course at the MX-Academy you can take a look into the world of motorcycling. For CHF 165 you can take part in Schlatt every second Wednesday. Off road with soft ground, a closed track and professional gear is the best way to master a motorcycle taster course.

The motorcycle taster course includes the following:

  • Professional protective gear from head to toe
  • Around 30 minutes of theory before riding
  • The matching motorbike. It can also be changed during the taster course as you progress
  • Motorcycles are available for all abilities and body heights
  • 1 hour of riding time in the taster course (including breaks)

If you would like to continue after one hour, you have the option of extending the motorcycle taster course to the full day course for an additional charge (3.5 hours of riding time including breaks)

Learner permit or taster course – which suits you?

Anyone who wants to ride a motorbike on public roads needs a learner permit in Switzerland. You apply for it at the road traffic office, and an eye test, a first aid course and the theory exam are added – a process of several weeks and a few hundred francs.

If you simply want to know whether motorcycling is for you at all, there is an easier way: on our closed site in Schlatt TG you ride without a licence and without a learner permit. In one day you see whether the spark ignites – and only then do you apply for the learner permit.

Do I need a licence to try a motorbike?

Yes. A Honda motorcycle test ride is the best way to get to know your future bike. We offer practically all current Honda models for a test ride. If you buy from us, the rental fee for the test ride is credited.

How does registration for courses and test rides work?
Registration is simply done online via the respective course or rental page or by phone at Honda Motorrad Zuerich. In the main season from April to October early booking is recommended – especially for taster courses and popular rental motorcycles such as the Africa Twin or NT1100.
